Our garden with aviaries Welcome to T&S Parrots, African Grey and Eclectus Parrot breeders based in Bournemouth, Dorset in the south of the UK.

Here at T&S Parrots we have been breeding parrots for 5 years, we specialise in African Grey's and Eclectus parrots. We believe in raising the birds in a happy home and socialising with them as much as possible to ensure they are as happy and healthy as can be when they leave. All our parrots are hand-reared and spoon fed from the age of 2 weeks. We teach our parrots simple commands and phrases to help with the transition to their new owners.

Please select one of the parrots below for more information on the parrots or click here for sales information.

eclectus Eclectus Parrots are found in Solomon Islands, New Guinea, northeastern Australia and the Maluku Islands (Moluccas). The males of the species are bright green, having bright orange-coloured upper mandibles and black lower mandibles, and blue or red tail and wing feathers; while the females have red heads and blue to purple breasts, with black beaks. Like African Greys, Eclectus Parrots have a very good volcabulary and need mental stimulation in the form of toys they can chew and foraging toys where food can be hidden for them to work out how to get it out. Eclectus Parrots for the most part are quiet birds however they are occasionally noisy if they are startled.
african grey African Greys are arguably the most intelligent of the parrot species. They are very entertaining and have a huge volcabulary of up to 200 words. Not only does the African Grey speak but he also understands what he is saying and can use words appropriate to a particular situation. Many owners say that being owned by an African Grey is like having a 5 year old child. Although some African Grey's have a reputation of being distructive, we believe that with the right discipline when young, you will have a well behaved and well adjusted bird. You will be amazed at how quickly your African Grey learns how to manipulate you, especially when he is being naughty! They can turn on the charm as soon as they know that they have done something wrong. It is therefore important to discipline calmly but firmly. African Greys like lots of toys which stimulate their brains. Foraging and chewing toys are essential to keep your Grey mentally alert. Good pet shops will have toys specifically designed to keep your parrot amused for hours. Your cage should be large enough for your African Grey to spread his wings wide with perches of various thicknesses. Apple and Pear tree branches make ideal perches and should be washed thoroughly before putting in your cage. A concrete perch will also help in keeping his nails trimmed.
